TL;DR: Seobility in 30 seconds
- Seobility is an all-in-one SEO suite from Germany: website audit, rank tracking, keyword research, backlink analysis and content optimisation under one roof.
- On AI visibility (GEO) it is ahead of its price class: the tool shows which of your keywords trigger Google AI Overviews, whether you are cited in them – and whether AI bots like ChatGPT are allowed to read your site at all.
- Reviews are consistently strong: 4.6 out of 5 on G2, OMR Reviews and Capterra – praised for simplicity, the audit and the price.
- There is a permanently free plan; Premium costs €49.90 per month (about 20 percent less on annual billing) – a fraction of Ahrefs, Semrush or Sistrix.
- Our rating: 4.3 out of 5 – the best value for money among SEO suites; only professionals doing heavy link building will hit its limits.
- Via our link* you can test Seobility Premium free for 14 days.
If your shop or blog does not show up on Google, the best product will not save you. But Ahrefs, Semrush and Sistrix quickly cost €120 to €200 a month – hard to justify for founders in the early phase. Seobility steps exactly into that gap: a complete SEO suite at half the price, with a free tier that actually deserves the name.
Add to that the topic currently changing everything: more and more searches are answered directly by Google’s AI Overviews, and customers ask ChatGPT instead of a search engine. If you do not appear there, you lose visibility without noticing. Seobility has reacted and is consistently expanding the suite towards GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).
We looked at every feature in detail – from the audit and rank tracking to the new AI features – and tell you honestly what is already live, what has only been announced, and where the limits are.
Our rating: 4.3 / 5
The best SEO suite for beginners and small teams: a website audit at professional level, daily rank tracking and a genuine free plan – at a price the big providers cannot match. AI Overview tracking is included at no extra charge; tracking for ChatGPT and Gemini has been announced. The weakest point remains the backlink database, which cannot keep up with Ahrefs.

What is Seobility?
Seobility is an SEO software from Nuremberg, Germany, built by Thomas Gareis – the free SEO checker went online around 2013 and made the tool well known. The company ran for eleven years without investors and was sold to saas.group, a holding for profitable software companies, in 2022. Today around 15 people work on the product, more than 700,000 users are registered, and in summer 2025 the suite received a major update with a new interface (“Seobility 2.0”).
The mission has stayed the same: prepare SEO in a way that does not require you to be a professional. Instead of data graveyards you get prioritised task lists – what is broken, how important it is, and how to fix it. The interface is available in English, German and Spanish, with keyword and ranking data for more than 90 country domains.
Website audit: the heart of the suite
The crawler examines your website the way Google would and checks more than 300 factors per page: meta titles and descriptions, canonicals, indexing problems, broken links, duplicate and thin content, internal linking, site structure, load times. It renders JavaScript on request (from Premium) – important for modern shop themes.
The result is not an error dump but a sorted to-do list: critical problems like indexing or availability errors at the top, cosmetics at the bottom, and for every item the tool explains how to solve it. This is exactly what Seobility gets praised for most in reviews – and in independent tool comparisons the on-page audit regularly comes out as the best in its price class. Audits can be scheduled daily, weekly or monthly; critical problems trigger an email alert.
Rank tracking and competitor comparison
The ranking monitor checks your Google positions daily on desktop (from Premium), on mobile every three days. Tracking works locally down to city level, including the Google Local Pack – relevant for anyone with a local business. By default you see the top 20; deeper positions are available as an add-on.
The built-in competitive comparison is strong: up to 20 competitors (Premium) run through the same reports – keyword by keyword, plus visibility trends and a keyword gap analysis showing what your competitors rank for and you do not. Honest limitation: only keywords you add yourself are tracked (10 on the free plan, 300 on Premium), and only Google – Bing and others are missing.
Keyword research and content optimisation
The keyword tool delivers five suggestion types for every term (similar keywords, questions, related searches, Google autocomplete, related terms) along with search volume, competition, CPC and search intent. Handy: you can also enter a domain instead of a keyword and see what it ranks for – including an overlap analysis against two competitors.
For texts there is the TF*IDF tool: it analyses the top search results for your keyword and shows which terms your text is missing. In the built-in live editor you write directly and the score updates as you type. That works well, but feels somewhat dated next to modern AI content editors like Surfer SEO – Seobility has announced an AI-powered content brief tool. The keyword database is also noticeably smaller than Semrush’s or Ahrefs’; for most niches it is enough in practice.
Backlink analysis: solid, but not the big league
Seobility runs its own link index with weekly updates: new, lost and broken backlinks, follow/nofollow status, link rating, anchor text distribution. On top come link-building suggestions from your competitors’ backlink profiles – their link sources, for instance, or broken links you can replace with your own content.
This is the suite’s most honest weak spot: the index is considerably smaller than Ahrefs’ or Semrush’s, details like the traffic of referring domains are missing, and there is no disavow export. For monitoring your own link profile it is enough; if link building is your core strategy, you will need a specialist tool alongside.
GEO: visibility in AI answers
Now to the topic on every marketer’s mind. Seobility openly positions itself as a GEO tool – and already has more on board than most suites in this price class.
Live today is AI Overview tracking, integrated directly into the ranking monitor: for every tracked keyword you see whether Google serves an AI Overview – and from Premium the full text of the AI answer, all cited sources including their order, and whether your brand is mentioned, updated daily. That lets you spot two things at a glance: which of your keywords are losing clicks to AI answers, and where you make it into the citations (or your competitors do).
The second building block is AI readiness in the website audit: Seobility checks whether your robots.txt locks out the crawlers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude – a banal mistake that surprisingly often costs all AI visibility – and finds technical issues that confuse AI crawlers just like classic ones.
And the third building block is coming: AI Visibility Tracking is meant to monitor your website’s visibility in ChatGPT and Gemini – via your own prompts, 3, 15 or 250 depending on the plan. The feature is already listed on the pricing page but still carries the label “coming soon”, just like the announced MCP interface that will let AI assistants query your Seobility data directly. We spell this out because it makes a difference: if you need full multi-platform prompt tracking today, specialist tools like Peec AI or Otterly are the way to go – at the cost of a separate subscription. With Seobility you get AI Overview tracking at no extra charge inside the normal suite, and the rest is on its way.

Free tools, monitoring and reports
Seobility became known for its free standalone tools, which work without a subscription: the SEO checker (audits one URL against 200+ factors and returns an SEO score plus task list), the keyword checker (how well is a page optimised for a keyword?), the ranking checker (unpersonalised live position, also local and mobile), SEO Compare (a direct A/B comparison of two URLs), plus a backlink checker, redirect checker and a SERP snippet generator. A free account gets you 5 queries per day – ideal for a first look.
The subscription adds convenience features: 24/7 uptime monitoring (outages, SSL certificates, DNS problems, email alerts), automated crawl schedules and white-label PDF reports with your own logo – practical for anyone serving clients. There is an API as well. What is missing: a native Google Search Console and Analytics integration – you still have to check that data separately.
How much does Seobility cost?
Three plans, transparent and without a credit system. Prices are net (VAT added where applicable); annual billing saves about 20 percent:
| Plan | Price | Key facts |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | €0 | 1 project, 1,000 pages per crawl, 10 keywords (weekly), 3 competitors, AI Overview indicator, 5 tool queries/day |
| Premium | €49.90/month or €479/year |
3 projects, 25,000 pages, 300 keywords (desktop daily), 20 competitors, backlink monitoring, JavaScript crawling, full AI Overview report, uptime monitoring, white-label reports |
| Agency | €179.90/month or €1,727/year |
15 projects, 100,000 pages, 1,500 keywords, 30 competitors, team accounts, phone support |
Prices last checked on the official pricing page on 12 August 2026. Additional projects and keyword packages can be booked individually (from €9.90/month). For comparison: Sistrix starts at €119, Semrush and Ahrefs sit around €130–165 per month.
You start the 14-day Premium trial via our link; a payment method is required at sign-up (credit card, PayPal, direct debit or invoice). Fairly handled: there is no notice period – if you cancel at any point during the trial in your account settings, nothing is charged. The subscriptions themselves can be cancelled at the end of each month or year, no letters, no deadlines. And if you do not want to pay at all, you simply stay on the free Basic plan.
What do users say about Seobility?
Review platforms rarely agree this much: 4.6 out of 5 on G2 (over 400 reviews, “High Performer”), 4.6 on OMR Reviews (over 700 reviews, almost all 4 or 5 stars), 4.6 on Capterra with a 90 percent recommendation rate, plus around 4.5 on Trustpilot. Strikingly many users report switching from Ahrefs or Semrush – almost always with the same reasoning: the same value for their own project at a third of the price.
Users praise the understandable to-do lists, the fast support and the genuine free plan. The criticism matches our impression: backlink data too shallow, keyword limits noticeable, occasional false positives in the audit, and no Search Console integration.
Who is Seobility for?
For shop owners, founders, bloggers and small teams who want to handle SEO themselves, Seobility is our first pick: understandable enough to get started, complete enough to work with for years, and cheap enough to pay for itself with a handful of additional visitors. Agencies with a manageable client base also get far with the Agency plan and its white-label reports.
The tool reaches its limits with two profiles: if you do link building at scale or need international competitive research at database level, add Ahrefs or Semrush. And if you are primarily looking for AI-assisted content creation, look at Surfer SEO or Finseo instead – Seobility remains first and foremost an analysis and monitoring tool.
Is Seobility worth it?
Yes, and with few reservations. The audit is among the best available for on-page SEO, the rank tracking including the AI Overview report is state of the art, and the price is so far below the big suites that the weaknesses in backlinks and keyword data are bearable for the target audience. The fact that the team takes AI visibility seriously instead of sleeping through it speaks for the tool’s future – even if the ChatGPT tracking is still “coming soon” rather than live today.
Our advice: start with the free Basic account or go straight for the 14-day Premium trial, run the audit over your site and work through the top 10 issues. After that you will know better than any review whether the tool fits you.

Frequently asked questions about Seobility
Is Seobility free?
Yes, there is a permanently free Basic account with one project, 1,000 crawled pages per run, 10 keywords in weekly ranking monitoring and 5 tool queries per day. The standalone tools like the well-known SEO checker are free to use as well. For daily tracking, backlink monitoring and larger crawls you need Premium.
How much does Seobility Premium cost?
Premium costs €49.90 per month or €479 per year (about 20 percent cheaper), net. The Agency plan with 15 projects and team features costs €179.90 monthly. Via our link you can test Premium free for 14 days – a payment method is required, but nothing is charged if you cancel during the trial.*
What AI and GEO features does Seobility have?
Live today is AI Overview tracking: per keyword you see whether Google serves an AI Overview, the full answer text, all cited sources and whether your brand is mentioned (daily from Premium). The website audit also checks whether the AI crawlers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude are allowed to read your site. Announced are AI Visibility Tracking for ChatGPT and Gemini (3 to 250 custom prompts depending on the plan) and an MCP interface for AI assistants.
Seobility or Ahrefs/Semrush – which is better?
It depends on the use case. On the on-page audit and value for money, Seobility wins (€49.90 versus €130 to €165 per month); on backlink and keyword databases, Ahrefs and Semrush are clearly superior. For shop owners, bloggers and small teams Seobility is usually plenty; professional link builders and enterprise teams need the big suites.
How does the 14-day trial work?
You register, add a payment method (credit card, PayPal, direct debit or invoice) and use all Premium features for 14 days. There is no notice period: cancel at any point during the trial in your account settings and you pay nothing. Afterwards the subscription runs monthly and can be cancelled at the end of each month – or you switch back to the free Basic plan.
Who is Seobility suitable for?
For shop owners, founders, bloggers, SMEs and smaller agencies who want to do SEO themselves – without professional prior knowledge and without a €150 subscription. The prioritised task lists make the tool particularly beginner-friendly. Pure link-building professionals and enterprise teams are better served by Ahrefs, Semrush or Sistrix.
