Overjoy Review: AI Sales Agents for Your Wholesale Channel

by Dominik Reuter | Aug 12, 2026

TL;DR: Overjoy in 30 seconds

  • Overjoy is an AI sales platform for wholesale: it finds retail buyers that fit your brand, writes the outreach and manages your pipeline in a purpose-built CRM.
  • Six AI agents handle follow-ups, reorders, order entry and even reclaim Faire commissions you should not have paid.
  • Behind it is a New York startup (founded 2022, formerly “Oversee”); its customers are mostly US brands in food, beauty and home goods.
  • Pricing starts at $125 per month (billed annually), with a free trial. Important for European brands: the buyer database is clearly US-focused. Ideal if you want to get your brand into US retail.
  • Our rating: 4.1 out of 5. A thoughtfully built specialist tool with a strong CRM, but a young track record and leads you should double-check yourself.

Once your brand is running in your own shop, brick-and-mortar retail is the logical next channel – but how do you find hundreds of suitable retailers without spending months building lists and typing cold emails? That is exactly the problem Overjoy wants to solve.

The platform combines three things: a retail buyer database with AI search (“specialty grocers in the Pacific Northwest that stock premium snacks”), AI agents that handle outreach and follow-ups, and a CRM built specifically for selling into retail, including sample shipping, linesheets and reorder logic.

We looked at the features, the pricing and the (still thin) review landscape and answer the question that matters most to our readers: what is this US tool worth for brands from Europe?

Our rating: 4.1 / 5

Currently the most complete specialist tool for product brands that want to win retail accounts systematically: AI search, automated outreach and a wholesale CRM mesh neatly. We deduct points because lead quality varies by niche and still needs manual checking, because the startup is young, and because the database clearly targets the US. For European brands, Overjoy is primarily a door-opener into US retail.

What is Overjoy?

Overjoy (legally: Prezento Technologies Inc.) is a startup from New York, founded in 2022 by Alexander Han and Jun Kwak. The latter previously worked at Google, Snap and Robinhood. The product started as a pure lead tool called “Oversee”; since January 2025 it has been Overjoy, a full sales platform with the AI assistant “Joy”.

The company is backed by around $3.2 million in funding, including Bessemer Venture Partners and Floodgate. According to its own figures, more than 1,000 brands use the platform, among them Tipsy Elves, P.F. Candle Co. and David Protein, almost all from North America, with a focus on food, beverages, beauty and home goods.

The target audience is consumer product brands (CPG) that want to build a wholesale channel alongside their own online shop: getting their products into boutiques, specialty grocers, concept stores and regional chains, without an expensive field sales team. If you want to run that channel from your shop as well, SparkLayer covers the ordering side.

How Joy finds your retailers

Everything starts with the lead search: you describe your ideal retailer in plain language, and the AI scans a database of local businesses for matching candidates. For every hit it explains why the store fits your brand and provides contact details that are verified in real time.

Two tools stand out. The lookalike search finds retailers similar to your best existing accounts. And the stockist scraper pulls the “where to buy” store lists from your competitors’ websites. After all, a store that stocks your competition is a hot candidate for your products.

To be honest, this is also where the biggest weakness lives: lead quality varies. The most thorough independent review (Wholesale In a Box) praises the fact that Overjoy finds independent stores beyond the big chains, but reports incomplete contact data and hits you need to weed out by hand. Contacts from the Faire ecosystem sometimes come as relay addresses instead of direct inboxes. So plan time for double-checking: the machine delivers raw material, not a finished customer book. Clay takes a comparable approach to B2B lists and has the same caveat.

Six AI agents for your pipeline

After the search, “Joy” takes over – or more precisely, six specialised agents. The conversion agent answers incoming retailer enquiries and sends out product samples, the reorder agent predicts reorders and revives dormant accounts, the order processing agent transfers purchase orders from emails and PDFs into the system. Add intent scoring (who is ready to buy right now?), a marketing agent for catalogues and one curious specialist: the commission tracking agent, which finds and reclaims Faire commissions you overpaid.

Email sending is unlimited on all plans, including automated follow-up sequences, an AI copywriter and mailbox warm-up for deliverability. One thing to keep in mind: on Trustpilot there is occasional criticism that AI-written emails pretend to be human a little too well. If you use the automation, let it draft your sequences but stay transparent. In the end, you own the tone, not the AI.

The CRM: built for wholesale, not for everything

For us, the CRM is the heart of the product. Instead of generic B2B stages it models the actual flow of selling a brand into retail: retailer account, contact, opportunity, sample out, follow-up after delivery, first order, reorder. Trigger automations like “sample delivered, wait three days, follow up” take over the tedious resubmissions, and the analytics show numbers a standard CRM simply does not have, the sample-to-order rate, for instance, or the reorder rate.

On top of that come four apps: shoppable linesheets (product catalogues retailers can order from directly), a wholesale interest form for trade shows and your website, invoicing with payment tracking, and an embeddable store locator for your own site. Integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, Faire, QuickBooks, Gmail and Outlook. Orders from your shop and Faire flow into the CRM automatically.

How much does Overjoy cost?

There are two self-service plans and a managed service. Billing is in US dollars; paying annually saves about 30 percent:

Plan Annually Monthly Key facts
Lite $125/month $180/month 2 users, 300 new contacts/month, otherwise full feature set
Pro $210/month $300/month 5 users, 1,000 new contacts/month
Managed Service on request Account manager runs lead gen + campaigns, min. 10 qualified opportunities/month, 30-day money-back guarantee

Prices last checked on the official pricing page on 12 August 2026 (net, in USD). Lite and Pro only differ in users and contact credits. All features including the AI agents and unlimited email sending are in both.

On the plus side: you can try Overjoy for free without a sales call (the exact trial length is not published). It is also fair that there is no artificial feature ladder. Still, at $125 a month the entry price is serious money for a brand that is still finding its footing. Overjoy pays off once wholesale is meant to become a real channel, not for casual experimenting.

How does Overjoy hold up in practice?

The independent review base is still thin, and that belongs in an honest assessment. On Trustpilot there are just 12 reviews averaging 4 out of 5 stars, and no G2 or Capterra profile exists. The positive voices consistently praise the same things: the tool pulls the entire wholesale operation into one place, the CRM sorts retailers sensibly (by last order date, region, tags), and the AI takes over the busywork.

The most detailed independent review by Wholesale In a Box reaches a verdict that matches ours: a powerful, thoughtfully built tool that is worth it mainly for brands already selling via Shopify or Faire with budget to spare, while early-stage founders will struggle with the price and the manual clean-up the leads require. The vendor’s case studies (say, 100 new retail accounts for a two-person brand) sound impressive, but they are vendor claims. We quote them here strictly as that.

The Europe check: who is Overjoy for over here?

Now for the point that matters most to our readers: Overjoy is a US tool for the US market. The company advertises a “global” database, but every example, case study and filter revolves around American retailers. We could not find any solid evidence of German or European retailer coverage. The interface is English only.

There is also a legal angle: cold email outreach is legal in the US, but in Germany and much of the EU it is legally risky even in B2B (unfair competition law, where without consent you risk cease-and-desist letters). So do not point the outreach automation at German retailers in the first place.

The bottom line: Overjoy is not built for selling into German stores. Where it gets genuinely exciting is the other scenario: your brand is established in Europe and you want to expand into US retail. Then Overjoy replaces an expensive US field sales operation: finding retailers, contacting them, sending samples and managing reorders, all from one system and independent of time zones. For the European market itself, the alternatives remain the wholesale marketplace Faire (active in Europe, but with commissions and less control) or classic trade shows and direct outreach; order management platforms like NuOrder or Joor only start once you already have the retailer network.

Is Overjoy worth it?

For the right brand: yes. If you have a physical product that would work on US shelves, you get lead research, outreach and a genuinely good wholesale CRM from a single source, at a price far below a single sales rep. The CRM with its sample and reorder logic is the strongest piece of software in the package for us.

If you only want to sell within Europe, Overjoy is currently the wrong tool. And if you are at the very beginning, solidify your product and margins before $125 a month enters the budget. In between, the rule is: test it for free, check with your own search terms whether the database covers your niche, and only then subscribe.

Frequently asked questions about Overjoy

How much does Overjoy cost?

The Lite plan costs $125 per month billed annually ($180 monthly) and includes 2 users and 300 new contacts per month. Pro costs $210 annually or $300 monthly with 5 users and 1,000 contacts. The feature set is identical on both plans, including unlimited email sending. For the managed service, Overjoy only quotes prices on request. A free trial is available without a sales call.

What exactly does the AI “Joy” do?

Joy is the umbrella name for six agents: they find matching retailers in the database, write personalised outreach emails with follow-ups, answer enquiries, send product samples, transfer orders from emails and PDFs into the system, predict reorders and audit Faire commission statements. You should still review the results, especially the suggested leads and the tone of the emails.

Does Overjoy work for European retailers?

Practically no. The retailer database targets the US, there is no solid evidence of meaningful German or European coverage, and the interface is English only. Cold email outreach is also legally risky in Germany and much of the EU. For European brands, Overjoy makes sense mainly as a way into US retail.

How is Overjoy different from Faire?

Faire is a marketplace: retailers come to the platform and order there, in exchange for commissions, and you stand next to thousands of other brands. Overjoy is your own outbound tool: you actively approach selected retailers and keep the direct customer relationship. The two are not mutually exclusive. Overjoy even integrates Faire and has an agent that reclaims overpaid Faire commissions.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, you can try Overjoy for free without booking a demo, just sign up and start. The exact trial length is not published on the website. There is no permanently free plan.
